About

You’re tired of fighting and have hit a roadblock.

When did your relationship become so exhausting?

The same argument on repeat.

Walking on eggshells.

Sleeping in separate bedrooms or lying next to each other, feeling miles apart.

The love is still there, but it’s buried under resentment, defensiveness, and years of feeling misunderstood.

Figuring out how to heal on your own is overwhelming.

You’re anxious and stuck – not sure what will help and where to turn to find the relief you want and need.

Capable and hardworking, you’ve been holding everything together for a long time.

But now you feel depleted by a job that drains you, relationships that demand too much, or internal voices that never seem to quiet down.

The coping strategies you used to survive no longer serve you.

You just want a place to land where you feel seen, heard, and understood.

“Can therapy really help?”

You’re afraid it will just turn into another space where you feel blamed, lectured, or forced to talk in ways that do not feel natural to you.

Especially if therapy has felt confusing or unhelpful in the past.

What I want you to know is this: you are not broken, and your relationship did not fall apart because you failed.

The patterns you are stuck in make sense once we slow down enough to really see them.

Therapy with me feels human.

We talk plainly. We laugh sometimes, even when the work is heavy.

I’ll ask you real questions and help you name things you have been skirting around for years. We’ll also slow down when conversations start to escalate, and I will step in when defensiveness takes over, and you don’t feel heard anymore.

You’ll be surprised by how quickly things start to make sense.

Many couples tell me they feel a sense of relief early on, not because everything is fixed, but because someone is finally helping them translate what is actually happening between them. That moment when one of you says, “That’s not what I meant,” and the other says, “Oh, I didn’t hear it that way,” is often where the work really begins.

This is not about winning arguments or assigning fault. It is about breaking down the walls that formed when it stopped feeling safe to be vulnerable with each other.

For the women I work with, we connect the dots between what you’re dealing with now and where you learned to survive the way you do. We build practical tools you can actually use, while also making room for the parts of you that have been ignored or pushed aside.

You’ll leave sessions feeling lighter and clearer, even when the work is emotional. Over time, you feel steadier in your body, more confident in your choices, and less at the mercy of anxiety or self-doubt.

Experience a deeper connection and healing.

Don’t stay stuck feeling disconnected or overwhelmed.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.

We’ll explore what’s coming up in a supportive, judgment-free space. This is a chance to ask questions, share what you’re hoping for, and see if working together feels right.

About Jaunita Marth, MS, LMFT

I’m a therapist who talks like a real person.

I believe humor belongs in therapy, even when we are talking about painful things.

Honesty is essential, even when it is uncomfortable. And I believe people do their best with what they know until they learn something new.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in criminal justice, probation, and parole. I’ve seen what happens when people are only defined by their worst moments and never given space to understand themselves differently. That experience shaped how I practice.

I do not see people as problems to fix. I see patterns that once protected you and no longer serve you.

Why do I do this work…

I became a therapist because I know what it feels like to be misunderstood, judged, and feel like I am not being heard.  Becoming a therapist has provided me the opportunity to provide a place to untangle their pain, rediscover their strengths, and create meaningful relationships – and lives – that truly feel like home safely.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, including two residencies – one in Chicago, IL, and one in Minneapolis, MN.  I went on to work in inpatient psychiatric settings and schools.

Along the way, I trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Narrative (storytelling) informed approaches.  I was strongly influenced by trauma education and numerous training and conferences around couples therapy.

Today, my work integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy, practical communication tools, somatic awareness, and narrative work. I will incorporate faith or spirituality if you want that, and I will never force it if you do not.

Outside of the therapy room…

I value simple and honest things. Straightforward conversations, time with my two adult children, their spouses, and my six grandchildren. I enjoy living out in the country with my two dogs. I love the serenity of nature, laughing with friends, and meeting people who are willing to learn, grow, and heal.

If you’re tired of feeling stuck and ready for something to shift, I would be honored to work with you.
